Cuyahoga Falls, OH residents enjoy “The Hobbit” throughout August 2011

Actors –N– Theatre in Cuyahoga Falls presents “The Hobbit”, based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s popular book, throughout the month of August. Residents of northeastern Ohio around Cuyahoga Falls are invited to attend one of the performances scheduled throughout August.

ANTIC (Actors -N- Theatre) published the following press release.

The adventure that started it for J.R.R Tolkien’s will be brought to life in ANTIC’s production of “The Hobbit.”

Tolkien’s classic novel is dramatized by Patricia Grey and tells the story of a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins (Darius Mousavi). The adventure begins when Gandalf (Peter Handley) tricks Bilbo into joining a group of dwarfs, Dwalin (Tyler Coffey), Balin (Christopher Poore), Kili (Amanda Abood), Fili (Haley Calhoun), Dori (Hannah Clemons), Nori (Chloe Schrack), Ori (Joseph Antal), Bifur (Michael Piascik), Bofur (Emma Antal), Bombur (Brandon Lucas) and the Leader Thorin ( Patrick Wulff). Bilbo, being a hobbit wants nothing to do with adventure, preferring the quiet life of the Shire, but Gandalf drags him into the dwarf’s quest to regain their treasure, taking him on an adventure “there and back again.”

The Dwarfs seek to regain their treasure that was taken by the dragon Smaug, who lives in a cave under the Lonely Mountains. With Bilbo’s help they hope to sneak into the cave and reclaim what is rightfully theirs. The dwarfs lose their food and ponies soon into their adventure. The dwarfs ask Bilbo to steal food from three trolls (Mark Brown, Karen Sauerbrey, Tim Fuller). The Trolls try to eat Bilbo, but Gandalf saves the day, turning the trolls to stone. After escaping the trolls, the dwarfs run into Goblins (Hannah Siebenhaar and Valerie Nauman) in the Misty Mountains. During a fight Bilbo gets lost. Bilbo ends up in Gollum’s (Tom Antal) cave, where he finds a ring that makes him invisible. Bilbo escapes Gollum’s cave and returns to the dwarfs.

The Elven Queen (Lynn Brown) captures the dwarfs and locks them in her dungeon. Bilbo must help the dwarfs find a way to escape so they can continue their journey and defeat Smaug.
