Children in Watertown, MA will be treated to a weekend of Hobbitry come November 18-20, 2011. The Watertown Children’s Theatre has scheduled a production of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” with a cast of children from grades 3 through 5 for that weekend.
According to the listing on Eventful, “Director Erica Berman and a cast of 3rd-5th graders present this musical adventure, filled with song, dance, and a lot of excitement!”
Erica Berman is presently the Mainstage Theatre Director for Watertown Children’s Theatre and the Enrichment Theatre Director for Solomon Schecter Day School of Greater Boston.
Ms. Berman holds a Master of Arts in Theatre Education from Emerson College and was also previously Director and Acting Coach at The Codman Academy.
According to her bio on the Watertown Children’s Theatre site, Ms. Berman has previously directed Damn Yankees, Singin’ in the Rain, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Wiz, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Joseph, Lion King, and Peter Pan & Anton in Show Business.
Boston area kids should have a lot of fun with this play.
