Why Didn’t the Valar Visit Tol Eressëa?

Q: Why Didn’t the Valar Visit Tol Eressëa?

ANSWER: This is another obscure question for which I really don’t have enough context to provide what I feel would be an adequate answer. Does the asker believe that no Valar ever visited Tol Eressëa? Ulmo, in fact, did visit it when the Teleri dwelt there. He only reluctantly sent Ossë to teach the Teleri how to build boats so that they could finally settled on the shores of Aman beside the Bay of Eldamar.

Did any other Valar visit Tol Eressëa? I cannot think of any accounts or anecdotes where a Vala visited the island. After the Teleri reached the shores of Aman Tol Eressëa remained empty until the Eldar of Beleriand settled there at the end of the First Age (of the Sun). It is conceivable that the Valar might have visited the Eldar on the island from time to time, especially as they seem to have sent messages to the Kings of Numenor through Eldar from Tol Eressëa. Of course, it would not have been necessary for the Valar to communicate directly with the Elves of Tol Eressëa.

Technically, only the rebellious Noldor were required to live on Tol Eressëa. The Sindar and other Teleri of Middle-earth may have had the option of sailing on to Eldamar and settling on the mainland of Aman, but Tolkien does not write that this ever happened. It seems that perhaps only Eärendil and Elwing of all the Elves of Beleriand may have found a permanent home in Aman. Of this matter The Silmarillion only says a very little:

And when they came into the West the Elves of Beleriand dwelt upon Tol Eressëa, the Lonely Isle, that looks both west and east; whence they might come even to Valinor. They were admitted again to the love of Manwë and the pardon of the Valar; and the Teleri forgave their ancient grief, and the curse was laid to rest.
